A free aftercare clinic for implant wearers opens in Chicago

Northside Implant Clinic is the Foundation’s fourteenth aftercare clinic and the third in the United States. It sees wearers of any make of optical implant, free of charge.

The clinic, on the north side of Chicago, checks, cleans, charges and updates optical implants of any make, and reports what it finds to the Independent Implant Register. It is open four days a week, with an evening session on Thursdays for wearers who work.

Like every aftercare clinic the Foundation funds, it sells no implants and recommends no maker. Its staff were trained at the Bay Area Implant Aftercare Collective in Oakland, which opened in 2021.

Wearers of discontinued devices can also be referred from the clinic to the Continuity programme for repairs and batteries.
