Terms of use
You may use this website freely. You may reuse most of what is on it. Here is what you may not, and what we can and cannot promise.
Reusing our text and data
Text on this site, the grants database, the outcomes dataset and the text of our open standards are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. You may copy, adapt and republish them for any purpose, including commercially, as long as you credit the Kiroshi Foundation and link to the page you used.
What you may not reuse
Our name, logo and seal, and the drawings on this site, are not covered by that licence. The drawings are by the Foundation’s illustrator and may be shown in reporting about the Foundation with credit, but not otherwise reused. Please see logo use. Stories on this site belong to the people who told them, and may be quoted but not republished in full without asking us.
Medical information
Nothing on this site is medical advice. Mieru at home can tell you whether you should have your eyes tested; it cannot test them. If you are worried about your sight or about an implant, see an eye care professional. If an implant has caused you harm, you can report it to the Independent Implant Register at register@kiroshi.org.
Accuracy
We take care that figures on this site are right and say where each comes from. If you find a mistake, please tell us at info@kiroshi.org and we will correct it and say that we have. The audited accounts and the Register’s annual reports are the definitive versions of the figures they contain.
Links
We link to other organisations, including Frothly, where it helps to explain our work. We are not responsible for their sites, and a link is not an endorsement of anything except the page linked to.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have under the law where you live.
