Grants database
Every grant of ¥5 million or more awarded since 1 April 2016: 441 grants worth ¥30.8 billion in all.
What the database includes
The database lists grants, not the Foundation’s direct spending on its own programmes such as the Independent Implant Register and the Chiba Centre. It leaves out open-call grants under ¥5 million, about 400 a year, and the roughly 2,600 school screening grants Mieru makes each year, all of which are reported in total in the annual report. Grant numbers count every open-call grant, so the numbers listed here have gaps. Grants awarded before April 2016 are listed in the annual reports for those years.
Amounts are the sums committed when the grant was awarded, in yen. Where a grant was later varied, the original amount is shown. A grant is active until the end of its term. The definitive record of our grants is the audited financial statements on the financials page; this database is updated monthly and was last updated on 31 October 2026.
