This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from any other website. This page explains what little it does keep, and how the Foundation handles personal information in its work.
This website
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics, advertising or embedded content from other sites. Every font, script and drawing on this site is served from kiroshi.org.
If you change the text size, contrast or spacing at the top of a page, your browser remembers the choice in its own local storage on your device, so that the next page looks the same. It is never sent to us, and the Reset button, or clearing your browser’s site data, removes it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (the address of the page requested, the time, your IP address and browser type) for up to seven days to protect the site from abuse. We do not use them to identify visitors.
Forms on this site, such as the contact form, do not send anything. They show you the address to write to instead. Nothing you type into them leaves your browser.
When you write to us
If you email us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and for grant applications for seven years after a decision, as Japanese law on public interest corporations requires. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Our programmes
Programmes and partners that collect personal information, such as hospitals, screening teams and aftercare clinics, are each responsible for it under the law where they work, and our grant conditions forbid them to sell it or share it with any implant maker except as anonymised safety reports or with the person’s explicit consent.
The Independent Implant Register and Shared Sight have their own privacy notices, which reporters and donors receive before they take part. Shared Sight donors can stop donating, and ask for everything they have donated to be deleted, at any time.
Your rights
Under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and the law where you live, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and in many cases ask us to delete it or stop using it. Write to our data protection lead at privacy@kiroshi.org. We reply within thirty days.
